Zuerst möchten wir uns bei allen Helfern ganz herzlich bedanken! Ihr habt es mit eurem tatkräftigen Einsatz möglich gemacht, dass wir trotz Regenschauer mit Unterbrechung des Wettkampfes die diesjährigen Kreismeisterschaften im Mehrkampf fast im Zeitplan über die Bühne bringen konnten.
Am Samstagmorgen begann alles wie geplant: Das Aufbau-Team rückte um 10 Uhr an und stellte die Tische und Stühle an die Stationen, die ersten Pavillons wurden aufgebaut und die Geräte aus der Garage geholt. Die Bahn wurde gefegt, der Kugelstoßring gesäubert und die Ballwurfanlage abgesteckt. Während der kurzen Mittagspause rückte dann um 12 Uhr das Catering-Team an und baute die Kaffee- und Kuchen-Station auf. Gut organisiert und mit vielen Helfern ausgestattet, waren wir rechtzeitig fertig und als die ersten Athleten eintrudelten konnten wir die Aufgaben auf die weiteren Helfern verteilen.
Nach der Riegeneinteilung konnten wir pünktlich um 14 Uhr mit dem Wettkampf beginnen und jede Gruppe steuerte auf ihre Station zu. Leider entschied sich auch das Wetter zu diesem Zeitpunkt umzuschlagen und der Himmel öffnete seine Schleusen. Was als leichtes Tröpfeln begann, wurde innerhalb von wenigen Minuten zu einem gewaltigen Schauer, sodass der Wettkampf nicht fortgeführt werden konnte. Alles flüchtete unter die Tribüne und die Pavillons, und wartete…
Der Schauer ebbte dann nach etwa 15 Minuten ab und ging in ein mehr oder weniger starkes Regnen über, sodass der Wettkampf wieder aufgenommen werden konnte. Der Zeitplan war zwar dahin, aber die Riegenführer hielten sich an die Abfolge und versuchten ihre Wettkämpfe mit den Athleten nach und nach „abzuarbeiten“.
Trotz der widrigen Bedingungen gelang es den Athleten teilweise gute Leistungen zu zeigen: So schaffte es Justin Bauer im 100m Lauf seine Zeit von Bad Zwischenahn um eine Zehntel zu unterbieten und gewann zudem auch die Kreismeisterschaft in der AK M14! Direkt dahinter platzierte sich Bennett Petznik auf Rang zwei.
In der M08 eroberte Jannick Groß im Dreikampf den Vizetitel, Florian Neidhart kam in derselben AK auf den guten 6. Platz, während einer der jüngsten, Malte Frerichs, einige Konkurrenten hinter sich lassen und den 12. Platz erreichen konnte. Der jüngste Teilnehmer Jesko Gerdes nahm zusammen mit seinem Bruder Jannes Gerdes auf Grund des Regens nur am Weitsprung teil und deshalb finden sich die beiden in der Mehrkampfwertung auf Platz 16. und 17. wieder.
In der M09 vertrat Lukas Meyer die TSG und landete am Ende auf Rang 7, Alexej Semenov (Rang 6) und Hendrick Frerichs (Rang 9) vertraten uns in der AK M10.
Einen weiteren Vizetitel schaffte Johannes Gerdes in der M11 mit konstant guten Ergebnissen in allen drei Disziplinen, während sich Jannis Kell in der AK M12 knapp vor Nikolaij Berkenbrink platzieren konnte (Platz 4 und 5).
Auch bei den Mädchen konnte die TSG Westerstede punkten: Martha Schaffarzik holte sich den guten 3. Platz direkt vor Elena Theilsiefje in der W08. Gleich 4 Mädchen nahmen in der W09 teil: Merle-Sophie Tax (Rang 5), Pauline Kulow (Rang 8), Marit Kell (Rang 10) und Swantje Tjaden (Rang 12) zeigten auch hier in der starken Konkurrenz gute Leistungen! Die Leistungen waren so gut, dass die TSG in der Mannschaftswertung der WU10 mit dem zweiten Platz abschließt!
Auch 4 Teilnehmerinnen der TSG gab es in der W10: Auf Platz 10 und 11 landeten mit nur 2 Punkten Unterschied Marlene Hullen und Celina Theilsiefje. Rang 17 erreichte Ronja Ert und Lea Marie Borchers Rang 19. Abschließend folgte die W13 mit Luca Krisch auf dem 4. Platz und die W14 mit Josina Papenfuß (Rang 3) und Hannah Gäfeke (Rang 4).
Den sportlichen Abschluss bildeten die 800m Läufe, die zusätzlich zu den Kreismeisterschaften ausgeschrieben waren. Viele TSG Athleten nahmen daran teil, besonders erwähnenswert ist die Leistung von Josina Papenfuß, die in 2:32,2min ihre Konkurrenz deutlich auf Abstand hielt und sich für die Landesmeisterschaften qualifizierte.
Wie der Aufbau klappte auch der Abbau dank vieler helfender Hände reibungslos und so konnten wir das Ende der Veranstaltung mit den letzten Kuchenstücken pünktlich beschließen.
