Superwetter, Superstimmung, Superlauf – Supergeil! – So könnte man den gestrigen Samstag aus Sicht der Westersteder Athleten beschreiben. Insgesamt traten sieben Läufer beim 1. Vareler Lauftag an: Sechs davon über die 5km, Bennet Petznik versuchte sich als Jüngster am 2500m Crosslauf. Dieser startete um 13 Uhr bei strahlendem Sonnenschein im Waldstadion und nach einer starken Runde durch den Wald konnte Bennet an 6. Position auf die Zielrunde einbiegen. Diese verteidigte er auch und so lief er auf den 2. Platz in der Altersklasse M14.
Eine Stunde später ging es dann auf die Langstrecke und jetzt sollte auch die Stunde der TSG Westerstede schlagen. Nach dem Start setzten sich schnell Nils Papenfuß und Martin Krisch an die Spitze, kurz dahinter hielt sich Josina Papenfuß auf. Nach ungefähr der Hälfte der Strecke konnte Martin sich immer weiter absetzen und das Rennen von vorneweg gestalten, Nils und Josina blieben kurz dahinter. Als erster bog dann auch Martin in das Stadion auf die letzte 400m Runde, und verteidigte seinen Vorsprung auf den Zweitplatzierten. Dritter und gleichzeitig erster der AK U18 wurde Nils Papenfuß, dicht gefolgt von der Gewinnerin aller Frauen: Josina! Für sie blieb die Uhr bei 19:23min stehen! Wäre die Strecke offiziell vermessen, könnten wir über einen neuen Kreisrekord der W14 jubeln, ihre persönliche Bestzeit aus dem letzten Jahr hat sie um über 2 Minuten geradezu pulverisiert!
Den fünften Platz erlief Dennis Lenzdorf und damit war der vierte Athlet der TSG Westerstede in den Top 5 im Ziel. Kurz darauf folgten Andreas Willms als Fünfter TSGer und Elfter der Männerwertung und Corinna Petznik, die sich in der weiblichen U18 durchsetzen konnte. Nach dem dritten Platz bei den Crosslauf-Kreismeisterschaften stand sie dieses Mal ganz oben auf dem Treppchen!
Bei bestem Wetter konnten die Leichtathleten der TSG Westerstede wieder überzeugen und insbesondere Josinas tolle Leistung stimmte den Trainer sehr zufrieden 🙂 Ein großes Dankeschön gebührt auch Britta (die übrigens selbst teilgenommen hat!) und Karin Papenfuß für ihre Fahr- und Fotodienste!
