Im zweiten Anlauf hat es endlich geklappt: Nachdem sich Josina Papenfuß bereits letztes Jahr für die Deutschen U16 Meisterschaften qualifiziert hatte und dann leider verletzungsbedingt nicht teilnehmen konnte, hat sie diesen Samstag die zweite Chance auf die Teilnahme an einer Meisterschaft auf Bundesebene wahrgenommen.
Bei den Deutschen Meisterschaften im Crosslauf, die dieses Jahr in Herten stattfanden, startete Josina im Mittelstreckenlauf der weiblichen U18. Die Konkurrenz war natürlich als stark einzuschätzen, aber ein Platz unter den Top Ten zu holen schien nicht unmöglich.

Am Samstagmorgen, den 05.03., fuhren wir los nach Herten, Nordrhein-Westfalen, 230 Kilometer Entfernung. Denn dort wurden dieses Jahr die Deutschen Meisterschaften im Crosslauf ausgetragen.
Dort angekommen, holte ich mir meine Startnummer ab und befestigte sie vorschriftsgemäß auf der Vorder- und Rückseite meines Trikots. Dann verschaffte ich mir einen Überblick über die angelegte Crossstrecke, die gerade für Zuschauer ideal angelegt war, da sie großräumig eingesehen werden konnte.
Bald darauf fing ich an mich einzulaufen und aufzuwärmen. 15 Minuten vor dem Start, fanden sich die Läuferinnen der weiblichen U18 im Startbereich ein, um sich die Spikes anzuziehen und sich zu konzentrieren. Um 13:10 Uhr fiel der Startschuss und ich versuchte nach vorne zu kommen und mich nicht einkesseln zu lassen, denn kurz nach dem Start verengte sich die Strecke. Ich hing mich an die Führungsgruppe und folgte dieser durch den tiefen Schlamm, der so manchen Schuh behielt. Am Ende der zweiten Runde von dreien war ich auf Position acht und nun begann die vorderen Läuferinnen das Tempo anzuziehen, sodass die Gruppe auseinander gezogen wurde. Immer die Läuferin vor mir sehend, holte ich Meter um Meter auf und überholte noch zwei.
Auf den letzten 300 Meter kam ich jedoch nicht mehr an die Fünfte dran und sicherte mir den sechsten Platz von 71 Teilnehmerinnen der U18.
Glücklich mit meiner Leistung bei meiner ersten Deutschen Meisterschaft nahm ich bei der Siegerehrung die Urkunde und eine Einladung zum Sparkassen Cross in Pforzheim entgegen.
