Mit Beginn des neuen Jahres steuert die Leichtathletik-Hallensaison langsam aber sicher auf ihre Höhepunkte zu. Einer der ersten davon sind immer die Landesmeisterschaften der U18 / U20 / Erwachsenen in Hannover.
Dieses Wochenende vertrat Josina Papenfuß die Farben der TSG Westerstede über die 3000 Meter der U18. Die Bundeskader-Athletin konzentrierte sich ganz auf ihre Lieblingsstrecke und die beiden Ziele: Neue persönliche Bestzeit und Titelgewinn. Mit der besten Meldezeit hatte Josina die Favoritenrolle inne, ließ sich aber im Vorfeld keine Nervosität anmerken.
Im gemeinsamen Start mit der U20 gingen die 10 besten Athletinnen aus Niedersachsen und Bremen pünktlich um 10:45 Uhr am Sonntagmorgen auf die Strecke. Josina packte sofort ihr Renntempo aus und setzte sich bereits nach wenigen Metern an die Spitze, dicht gefolgt von Lisa Vogelgesang aus der älteren U20.
Die Vorgabe war, das Tempo lange so hoch wie möglich zu halten. Nach der ersten Runde (200 Meter) zeigte sich bereits die erste Lücke zwischen den beiden Führenden, die im Laufe des Rennens immer weiter aufklaffte. Und die Taktik ging auf: Runde um Runde hielt Josina das Tempo sekundengenau ein und hielt den Kurs auf eine Zeit unter 10 Minuten.
Zum Schluss lief es nur noch auf den Zweikampf zwischen Josina und Lisa hinaus, den die ältere Athletin in einem starken Spurt über 150 Meter noch für sich entscheiden konnte. Eine schöne und spannende Zugabe für das Publikum, da beide Athletinnen zu dem Zeitpunkt bereits mit deutlichem Abstand von fast 40 Sekunden ihre Altersklassen gewonnen hatten.
Mit 9:57,17 Minuten hat Josina ihre persönliche Bestzeit steigern können und bereitet sich nun auf die Norddeutschen Meisterschaften in zwei Wochen vor.
