Früh am Sonntagmorgen ging es los Richtung Wilhelmshaven und hinein in ein Waldstück im kleinen Ort Grafschaft bei Schortens, wo der 36. Nordwestcross stattfand. 7 Leichtathleten der TSG Westerstede nahmen bei leichtem Nieselregeln den 2430m langen Rundkurs auf sich und starteten damit in die Crosssaison.
Den ersten Erfolg auf der rutschigen und engen Strecke verbuchte dabei Josina Papenfuß im Lauf der U14 und lief trotz eines Sturzes und offener Schnürsenkel in 9:49min zum Sieg in der weiblichen Konkurrenz. Luca Krisch kam in diesem Lauf als dritte der Altersklasse W12 über die Ziellinie.
Im zweiten Lauf konnte Nils Papenfuß nach einem starken Finish die gesamte Konkurrenz auf Abstand halten und lief in sehr guten 9:16min auf den 1. Rang. Den zweiten Sieg in diesem Lauf holte Greta Liesenhoff in der AK W14, während Corinna Petznik in der WU18 den dritten Platz belegte. Nicolas Springub verpasste als Vierter der M14 leider knapp einen Podestplatz.
Im letzten Lauf mit TSG-Beteiligung über 4865m konnte Martin Krisch nach einem beherzten Endspurt die Männerklasse gewinnen und damit den vierten Pokal nach Westerstede holen.
Dies war also ein Auftakt nach Maß in die Crosslaufsaison und wir werden alles dafür tun, um die Erfolge fortzusetzen. Danken möchte ich an dieser Stelle wieder den Helfern im Hintergrund, die uns insbesondere mit ihren Fahrdiensten wieder sehr geholfen haben!
